Submission Policy

JerseyArts.com is the official website of Discover Jersey Arts, a multi-faceted program presented by ArtPride New Jersey dedicated to informing the public about New Jersey's arts community.

To streamline ArtPride's communications with the arts industry, organizations can submit content for JerseyArts.com on our parent site, ArtPrideNJ.org. This prevents arts organizations from having to maintain multiple account logins on different websites and helps us maintain clean data on our constituents.

We work with more than 300 arts organizations through the Jersey Arts Marketers (JAM) network to promote what's happening in New Jersey's arts scene. Organizations must be registered with the JAM network to be featured on our site so we can be confident in what's being published. We also give preference to groups that are ArtPride members.

Image Policy
Images submitted to JerseyArts.com must be suitable for all ages. We reserve the right to make all decisions regarding image inclusion on our site. Please see the FAQs section of the myArtPride Member Portal for additional image guidelines.

Stories
We work with a talented team of award-winning arts journalists to produce articles, podcasts, and videos that tell compelling stories about the artists and industry professionals behind our state's arts community.

Typically, these stories are associated with an upcoming performance or exhibition. However, they are not designed to be commercials for a show. An interesting "hook" must make the story relevant for our readers.

Arts Directory
Our searchable directory is meant to provide the public with a general overview of arts organizations based in New Jersey that match their interests and geography. It is NOT a place to promote events or other time-sensitive information.

Example
Avoid using phrases like "Our upcoming 10th anniversary season," "This year's festival will feature XYZ," or "Our fall season includes XYZ." These phrases quickly date your profile and violate this submission policy.

We encourage you to select all of the "categories" and "offerings" that best apply to your organization. However, DO NOT select options that do not reflect your programming. This will only frustrate patrons and violates this submission policy.

Example
A performing arts center will select a large number of categories since it presents a wide variety of options. In contrast, a producing theatre may only select "theatre" since that is what it does. Both options provide the public with what they are looking for.

In addition, DO select offerings such as "camps" and "classes and workshops" if your organization makes those available to the public. However, be sure to include those offerings in your description. It doesn't help if a consumer searches for camps, your organization comes up in that search, but you do not tell them what type of camps you offer.

We provide you the option to include your Google Place ID in your organization profile. We strongly encourage you to add it where applicable. This will populate features such as your Google Map and Google Reviews, making your listing more attractive to consumers.

Event Discounts

JerseyArts.com allows organizations to reach new audiences by offering discounts to arts-realted events. Events submitted for discounts must take place in New Jersey and be open to the general public. You can select the percentage off and restrict the discounts.

Example
20% off - Discount only available on weekday performances

We are not a ticket seller. All sales are processed on your website and/or box office phone using a promo code that you provide. Discounts are visible to all users, but only those who log in to their myJerseyArts account can see how to redeem them.

If your organization is based in New Jersey but performing outside of the state, DO NOT post those events as discounts on our site.

Submitting a discount is the only way to guarantee your event appears on the site.

Featured Events

In addition to discounted events, we feature events throughout the year to match our seasonal Discover Jersey Arts messaging campaigns. Since our staff curates these events, submission does not guarantee inclusion on JerseyArts.com.

Destinations

We promote cultural tourism by packaging cultural organizations with dining and hotel stay options in select towns throughout New Jersey. Unlike other areas of the site, we DO NOT require cultural organizations to be part of the JAM network to be included on this page. However, we do give preference to ArtPride member organizations.

We work with destination marketing organizations across the state to curate this content. While we evaluate it regularly and may add or remove towns as we deem appropriate, we DO NOT accept content submissions for this part of our site.
