Paper Mill Playhouse

Paper Mill Playhouse entertains, inspires, and enriches lives. As the nation’s premier musical theater, we foster a creative environment to advance the art form, educate students, develop future theater lovers, nurture inclusion, and provide access for all.

As New Jersey’s largest producing theater, Paper Mill’s community extends to all 21 counties and the New York metropolitan area. More than 220,000 artists, theater-lovers and students each year depend on Paper Mill as an artistic home that inspires and nurtures their creativity.

As a professional producing theater, Paper Mill is deeply committed to identifying and nurturing creative talent on the mainstage, including singers, dancers, directors, composers, lyricists, choreographers, actors, and designers. We collaborate with other regional theaters and independent producers to bring our audiences the best in musical theater, from celebrated revivals to new work from the industry’s most talented artists.

Paper Mill’s commitment to education includes classes and summer training in addition to its support the College Musical Theater Common Prescreen Criteria. Modeled after Broadway’s Tony Awards, the Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards was created in 1996 to encourage and reward exceptional accomplishments in the production of New Jersey high school musicals.

Paper Mill Playhouse is where new American musical theater comes to life.
