Princess Aurora grows up under the protection of her fairy godmothers Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather. In the forest, the princess, renamed Briar Rose, is eventually discovered and pricks her finger on the spinning wheel, casting herself into the deep sleep of Maleficent's wishes. She will only awaken with true love's kiss. Perhaps her betrothed and her beloved are one in the same!
