South Jersey Cultural Alliance

South Jersey Cultural Alliance (SJCA) connects, empowers, and advocates for artists, communities, and organizations to promote engagement and investment in arts and history across South Jersey. Founded 35 years ago by regional cultural leaders to ensure equitable funding and representation, SJCA continues to champion the role of arts and culture in South Jersey’s identity, economy, and well-being.

Through its 2024–2027 Strategic Plan, SJCA focuses on connection, engagement, and impact—building stronger relationships South Jersey creatives, cultural organizations, and strategic partners and funders statewide.

Core Programs

1. CultureConnect Membership Network

CultureConnect unites artists, creative professionals, and cultural organizations across South Jersey. Members gain access to training, resources, peer collaboration, funding opportunities, and focus groups that strengthen our regional arts community and influence statewide policy conversations.

2. CultureQuest Map and Mobile App

CultureQuest is an interactive digital map and mobile app that show South Jersey’s arts, history, and cultural destinations. It connects residents and visitors to local creative spaces, events, and practitioners, promoting regional exploration and cultural tourism.

3. Regional Promotion and Storytelling
SJCA amplifies the South Jersey cultural community through collaborative marketing campaigns, digital storytelling, and curated StoryMaps. These initiatives hiregion'sthe region’s creative diversity and drive public engagement with local arts and heritage.

4. Virtual Series
The Virtual Series spotlights artists and organizations—especially those from historically marginalized and under-resourced communities—through digital interviews, images, and StoryMaps. It centers authentic voices and explores how identity and place in South Jersey’s cultural landscape.

5. Strategic Partnerships
SJCA engages with statewide partners, funders, and advocacy organizations to ensure that South Jersey is represented in conversations about funding and resources. These relationships help advance equity and strengthen the statewide arts ecosystem.
