Adelphi Chamber Orchestra
The Adelphi Orchestra (AO) is a professional, non-profit orchestra performing symphonic, chamber, operatic, and dance concerts. Founded in 1953, it is New Jersey's longest-continuously performing orchestra and the oldest chamber orchestra in northern New Jersey.
The Adelphi Orchestra serves their community's musical and educational needs with special emphasis given to families, seniors, and those with limited financial means. They strive to advance the orchestral arts through education, original commission, community partnerships, and robust young artist programming, which includes their sponsorship of the annual Young Artist Competition for musicians up to age 27.
The Adelphi Orchestra presents concerts with accomplished national and international guest soloists and distinguished conductors. Multi-year nominees for the JerseyArts.com Favorite Orchestra/Symphony People's Choice Award. They continue to meet their goal of offering three or more stimulating musical programs each year while maintaining high standards of musicianship and directing by outstanding permanent or guest conductors. They foster a challenging environment where artistic excellence flourishes. Many concerts are offered free of charge.
