An Evening of Romance Featuring Michael Amante

This show is a perennial favorite. Twenty-four different members perform songs extolling the joys and woes of love in all its grandeur, foolishness, heartbreak, and comedy. Celebrate Valentine's Day with the NJSO as three of Broadway's hottest vocalists perform favorites from Rodgers and Hammerstein's classics such as "The King and I," "Carousel" "The Sound of Music," "Oklahoma!" and "South Pacific." Like a box of sumptuous chocolates, this program features romantic sweets to delight every palate.

The Yardbirds laid the groundwork for rock guitar as we know it. Hits include "For Your Love," "Over Under Sideways Down," and "Heart Full of Soul." In 1967, Vanilla Fudge made their way onto the music scene, rocking the world with a new sound. They headlined concerts with Cream, Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, and Jimi Hendrix.

Get set for Valentine's Day by making handmade ganache truffles under the guidance of chocolatier Charlie Musso. While the truffles set, students will create decorative paper packaging for their chocolates. Each participant will receive a complimentary glass of champagne and take home a gift box filled with approximately one dozen truffles. Pre-registration is required.

Michel Bell ended the last century on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in front of the President and First Lady, singing to over 600,000 people at "America's Millennium," the New Year's Eve 2000 celebration. On the Broadway stage, Mr. Bell received a Tony Award nomination for his portrayal of "Joe" in Hal Prince's production of Show Boat.

Enjoy two climbs for the price of one -- bring your sweetie! New Jersey's tallest lighthouse awaits you. Take an amazing journey into time as you ascend the 228 steps of the Absecon Lighthouse, one of the oldest lighthouses in the country. Up top, you'll come face-to-face with the original first-order Fresnel Lens, first lit in 1857.
