Dr. Nolan’s photographs capture the spirit of post-war Bosnia-Herzegovia, focusing on young people working to improve their lives in the aftermath of war. The images are quite different from the stereotypical depictions broadcast by American media outlets. Instead, Nolan captures youthful subjects engaged in leisure activities, providing positive portrayals of youth expressing their identities through their vocations and avocations.

Presented by artist and arts lecturer Jenny Reinhardt, attendees will learn to draw on their own powers of deduction, clue finding and inference; learn to discover the era, political environment and artistic message of art. This lecture will build confidence in museum-goers and let arm-chair historians put their knowledge to use. The popular Thursday Evening Salon Series runs from January through May 2010. Generously sponsored by a grant from the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, this year the Salon Series will be free and open to the public. Seating is limited and reservations are required.

The New Jersey Tap Dance Ensemble (NJTAP) has defined rhythm tap dance for a new generation of dancers and audiences. Through NJTAP’s touring performances, people are discovering and re-discovering Tap Dance - a uniquely American art form. This celebration of tap features new works by a new generation of tap artists inspired by tap dancing's connection to past traditions and pioneers.

It’s a January Jersey jamfest with some of the state’s top folk artists including Brian McArdle and Wry Toast, Andy Goessling (from Railroad Earth) and Friends, and special guest host and musician Roger Deitz.

U.S. tour debut for the Band of the Irish Guards! The Irish Guards were formed on April 1, 1900 on the expressed wish of Queen Victoria to commemorate the bravery of the many Irish Regiments who had fought in the South African campaigns. The Regimental Band was formed at about the same time and quickly gained a reputation for excellence. Currently, the Band consists of 49 musicians.
