East Lynne Theater presents THE TEMPERAMENTALS (staged reading)     Bookmark and Share
In 1950, two Temperamentals, the code word used by homosexuals to define themselves, started the Mattachine Society, an organization whose purpose was to unite, inform and empower. While this intelligent, witty, and entertaining play by Jon Marans explores the trials of the society’s founders, Harry Hay and Rudi Gernreich as they risked their lives and livelihoods to gain equality, it also reveals the relationship between the two men. This is the second of two staged readings to celebrate LGBTQ+ PRIDE MONTH IN CAPE MAY. The first is "The Normal Heart" at Cape May Stage on Monday, June 10 at 8:00 PM. CAPE PRIDE is sponsored by Cape May Stage, East Lynne Theater Company, and GABLES.
