In 1994 Leap was invited to relocate his studio, The Painted Window, from his hometown of Runnemede, New Jersey and become an artist-in-residence at the Wheaton Arts & Cultural Center in Millville, New Jersey. Leap currently oversees the Stained Glass Center, a learning resource featuring exhibits about the history and techniques of architectural stained glass.

Leap has created numerous public art commissions including a skylight illustrating the history of New Jersey, which is installed in the Annex of the New Jersey State House in Trenton.
