Roslyn Rose is a New Jersey native and she now lives in Hoboken. Her art ability was recognized by a first grade teacher and she was encouraged by many instructors throughout her schooling. She attended Rutgers University, Pratt University, and obtained a B.S. at Skidmore College.

She was a nationally recognized etcher for many years before becoming intrigued with the medium of computer manipulated montages. Although photography is now her main inspiration, she considers herself a fine artist using the medium to seamlessly create collages.

Ms. Rose's Photographic Montage, Skyline, was included in the well received "City of Life" exhibition at the Distillery Gallery, Jersey City, NY, April 5 to May 17, 2013. In December 2012 she joined two other artists to present the exhibition, "Interconnected," at the hob'art gallery, Hoboken, NJ. Solo shows include Ceres Gallery NYC (2008 & 2010); Hoboken (NJ); Historical Museum (2006 & 2012); Symposia, Hoboken, NJ (2005); New Century Artists Gallery, NYC (2003); Nathans Gallery, West Paterson, NJ (1999); and Pen & Brush Club, NYC (1998). This year Ms. Rose artwork has been displayed in group shows including the NAWA "Ev(e)olution" exhibition; the Hudson County, NJ, "In Her Strength;" and the International Society of Experimental Artists. Recent group exhibits have included the NJ State Museum Annual, Trenton, NJ; George Segal Gallery, Montclair University, NJ; Washington Gallery of Photography, Bethesda, MD; Ceres Gallery National Juried Shows, NYC; and Longview Museum of Fine Arts, Texas.

Awards include Best-in-Show at the Mountain Art Show, Bernardsville, NJ; Computer Art and Photography Awards at National Association of Women Artists Annual exhibitions; and The Directors' Award at the Period Gallery, Omaha, NE. She received the Best-in-Show award at the International Society of Experimental Artists 17th Annual Exhibition.

Roslyn's art work is in the collections of many museums and corporations including the Newark, NJ, Museum of Art; NJ State Museum; NAWA Collection at Voorhees-Zimmerli Museum, Rutgers University; Stevens Institute, Hoboken, NJ; Noyes Museum, Oceanville, NJ; and the McAllen International Museum in Texas.

Ms. Rose is a cofounder of the hob'art co-operative gallery, headquartered in Hoboken, NJ; a Nautilus Member of the International Society of Experimental Artists; and a member of the National Association of Women Artists. Ceres Gallery in Manhattan and hob'art gallery in New Jersey represent the artist.

"After many years of experience with traditional forms of printmaking, I find the medium of digital printmaking exciting and intriguing. The contemporary introduction of the virtual darkroom has enabled me to integrate fleeting images from life and imagination. "Recently I have been attracted to images of storefronts because they provoked a memory of the old doll repair store I visited when I was a child. I became intrigued with the collection of discarded doll parts, and now I fill the windows of my photographs of empty stores with portions of dolls or manikins. I have continued with the theme investigating different seasons, eras, and light. The business are always closed because of economic downturns."
