As a student of the human face, Raymond Brown's works are mostly small scale portrait studies providing an intimacy with his subjects. Currently Brown is working on a series of self-mocking portraits. Brown also enjoys painting the New Jersey landscape and says "I have lately discovered the delights of struggling with the greens of central New Jersey."

Raymond Brown is a native of Western Canada. He attended the Alberta College of Art and Design, and the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Montreal. He has been a printmaker, storyboard artist for the animation industry in L.A., portrait artist, designer and crafter of fashion accessories, architectural illustrator, and muralist.

Recent exhibitions/projects include a solo exhibition at the City Hall Gallery, Solana Beach, CA., group shows with the Animated Film Society of Los Angeles, the USC Gallery and the Hirsh Gallery of Los Angeles, and a mural for the Hospital of Hope, Montreal, Quebec.
