Laurie Riccadonna received her BFA in Painting and Drawing from the Pennsylvania State University. From there she attended Yale University School of Art where she received her MFA in Painting and Printmaking.  Riccadonna has been an Assistant Professor at both Brown University and Pennsylvania State University.  She has received numerous awards and honors including two Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation Fellowships, the Ely Harwood Schless Memorial Prize from Yale University, and the Margaret Giffen-Schoenfeld Award from Pennsylvania State University.  Riccadonna is also the recipient of a 2002 Individual Artist Fellowship from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.

She states, “The act of looking forms the basic conceptual premise of my painting. It exists as a process of exploration and discovery as the viewer winds their way through the painted garden forms. While an overall organization of each painting develops through the structure of an assumed grid, an architectural reference, it is subverted by the profusion of form permeating the space of the painted surface. This profusion exists as an intricate disorder where ripeness and decay precariously balance.”

Her work has been exhibited at numerous locations including the SPACES Gallery in Cleveland, Ohio, Bellwether Gallery in Brooklyn, Palmer Museum of Art in University Park, PA, and the Durban Art Gallery in Durban, South Africa.
