Antonio Alexander Puri attended the University of Iowa: College of Law where he received his JD (Juris Doctor), the Marshall - Wythe School of Law in Madrid, Spain, Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA where he received a BA in Fine Arts and English, and the Academy of Art in San Francisco, CA.

Of his work he states, “My paintings are self-portraits…portraits of the spirit. That is where distinctions disappear. While my art is an expression of my individuality, it is where I can identify with the universe.  Circles have been more than a visual symbol to me. From the smallest cells, to the Earth and the ever-expansive curvature in space, the spherical form is everywhere. Perhaps it is why we don't see it. I emphasize it in my work so we do see it. Experience it; portals to self-discovery.  I enjoy the qualities of the paint, its fluidity and texture. It is a reflection of how I see the energy in all things, flowing and spinning in harmony. By contrasting highly textured surfaces with flat surfaces, vertical and horizontal drips, circles of different proportions, through use of various mediums like oils, acrylics, varnishes, wax, sand, beads, etc., a tension exists. This tension is the force that keeps the paintings alive.”

His work has been the subject of numerous exhibitions including the Barrow Group in NYC, 531 Central Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, FL, Cumberland County College Gallery in Millville, NJ, the DaVinci Art Alliance in Philadelphia, Triad Gallery in Seal Rock, OR, Gallery 2828 in Chicago, PII Gallery in Philadelphia, and the Ankh Gallery in Hoffman Estates, IL.  Puri has also participated in group exhibitions at the Susquehanna Art Museum in Harrisburg, PA, Sharadin Art Gallery, Kutztown University in PA, Church Street Gallery of Contemporary Art in Orlando, FL, Main Line Art Center in Haverford, PA, and the Bowhaus Design Groupe in Philadelphia.
